My Crazy Cat | The Story Behind the Blog

Hello! My name is Jennifer and I have been a cat owner for the past 2½ years. Ever since I was an infant, my family has always raised dogs. When I became an adult and moved out on my own, I of course, had dogs. Then around April of 2005, I became a cat owner for the first time in my life and things became real interesting awfully quick.

Her name is Angelie and she is a long hair tuxedo cat. Angelie was abandoned by a neighbor who moved when Angelie was just a tiny kitten. One of the neighbor kids found her and brought her home. The neighbor kept her for the night, but it was obvious that their older cat did not appreciate having a kitten in the house and was very aggressive towards the kitten.

The next afternoon, my boyfriend and I were coming back from running errands and the neighbor came out holding this tiny ball of fur in her hands. We stopped and spoke briefly. The neighbor explained how the kids found the kitten and how she could not keep the kitten due to her older cat. She was on her way to take the kitten to a local shelter. She then asked if we liked cats and if we were allergic to them. I said that I like cats and my boyfriend did not say a word. Within minutes, I was holding this tiny kitten. That was my first mistake. This little kitten was so cute and she took one look at me and instantly knew I was a sucker for animals. My boyfriend, even though he is not a fan of cats, told me that if I wanted to keep her that it was alright with him. That is how Angelie came to be a part of our family.

I decided to create My Crazy Cat blog for other people out there who happen to love their cats. I will share stories about some of the crazy things Angelie has done and things she will undoubtedly get herself into. I will also include educational information on cat breeds, cat food, cat toys, proper care, cat behavior, as well as my own learning experiences going from a dog owner to a first time cat owner, and funny videos and pictures of our feline friends.
